Mayfield, KY - Mid-Continent University softball coach Christa Bakemeier has signed pitcher Krista Hoover from Marion (Ill.) High School and Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois, to an NAIA Letter of Intent to play for the Cougars beginning with the 2011 season.
 
    Hoover, currently a sophomore at Shawnee CC, completes her second season of college softball in the spring of 2010 before transferring to MCU as a junior for the 2010-11 school year. She posted a record of 11-7 with a team-best 2.87 earned-run average as a freshman in 2009.
 
     Bakemeier comments, "I believe that Krista will work hard and be a positive asset to our program, both on and off the field. We look forward to having her as part of our pitching staff."
