Jessica Taylor signs to play softball and volleyball for MCU

Mayfield, KY - Mid-Continent University head volleyball coach Brittany Nicley has signed Jessica Taylor from St. Mary's Memorial High School in St. Mary's, Ohio, to a letter of intent to play for the Cougars beginning with the 2010 fall volleyball season. Taylor is the daughter of Randy and Christine Taylor of St. Mary's, Ohio.
 
     Taylor, an outside hitter in the fall and a softball pitcher, catcher and infielder during the spring season, graduates in June, 2010 before coming to MCU as a freshman in August. She plans to play both volleyball and softball for MCU.
 
     Taylor earned second team All-League volleyball honors and was selected as a member of the District 8 All-Star team. She earned team Most Valuable Player honors as a senior and set a school record for most varsity games played in her career and ranks second in career kills. She also plays club volleyball for the Ohio Elite team.
 
     Coach Nicley comments, "I expect big things from Jessica. She's a great athlete, and I am grateful that she chose Mid-Continent University. I look to her for help on the offensive side as well as defensively."
