Mayfield, KY - Mid-Continent University head soccer coach David Oesch has signed forward Scott Zettlemoyer from Glasgow High School in Glasgow, Kentucky, and goalkeeper Taylor Smith from Lexington High School in Lexington, Tennessee, to letters of intent to play for the Cougars beginning with the 2010 fall soccer season. Smith is the son of Ty and Kelly Smith of Lexington, Tennessee, and Zettlemoyer is the son of Carl and Connie Zettlemoyer of Glasgow, Kentucky.

Zettlemoyer, a 6-0, 150-pound forward, scored 30 goals during his senior season at Glasgow High School and ranked eighth in the state of Kentucky in scoring. Zettlemoyer was named to the State Class A All-Tournament team as a sophomore in 2007 and earned All-District honors as a senior. He also served as Glasgow's soccer team captain as a junior and senior. Zettlemoyer also competes in the 800-meter run and the 4 x 400-meter and 4 x 800-meter relays for Glasgow's track team.

Taylor Smith, a 6-0, 195-pound goalkeeper, earned District Goalkeeper of the Year honors and recorded 15 saves in a District match against Madison High School two weeks ago.

Coach Oesch comments, "Scott Zettlemoyer is a great addition to our program, and I am excited about him joining our team. And I have known Taylor Smith for several years and know that he is an outstanding young man. I hope we can sign more players like these two student-athletes."
