Heather George signs with MCU basketball
Mayfield, KY - Mid-Continent University women's basketball coach Courtney Nicley has signed 5-10 forward Heather George from Roane State Community College (Tenn.) to a letter of intent to play basketball for the Cougars beginning with the 2010-11 season. She is the daughter of Anthony and Gwen George of Morristown.

George is the second Roane State player to sign with MCU - guard Holli Daily signed in June.   George, a 2008 graduate of Morristown West High School in Morristown, Tennessee, and Daily played two seasons together at Roane State and helped Roane State to 37 wins in 54 games. George averaged 7.2 points and 6.7 rebounds with 44 assists, 32 steals and 5 blocked shots last season as one of the team's sophomore team captains, and 3.9 points and 4.5 rebounds as a freshman in 2008-09.

Coach Nicley comments about George's signing, "Heather is an extremely athletic, quick, talented basketball player with the ability to score. She can play inside or outside which can cause problems for our opponents defensively."
