Mayfield, KY - Mid-Continent University volleyball coach Brittany Nicley has signed 5-11 middle hitter Arielle Dayberry from Union County High School in Morganfield, Kentucky to a letter of intent to play volleyball for the Cougars beginning with the upcoming 2010-11 season.
The daughter of Mark and Rayma Dayberry of Morganfield, Arielle played both volleyball and basketball for Union County High School and is a 2008 graduate of UCHS. She earned All-District honors in volleyball for all four years of high school and made the All-District and All-Region team in basketball as a senior. Dayberry was the volleyball team's Most Valuable Player as a junior in 2007 and again as a senior in 2008, and was voted Best Offensive Player as a senior.
Dayberry then played two seasons of basketball for Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, Illinois, totaling 252 points, 148 rebounds and 64 three-point field goals in 48 career games. She averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds with 58 three-pointers as a freshman in 2008-09.
