Anna Maziarka from Marshall County HS signs a letter of intent for softball

Mayfield, KY - Mid-Continent University softball coach Christa Bakemeier has signed third baseman Anna Maziarka (pictured on the right) from Marshall High County School in Benton, Kentucky to a letter of intent to play for the Cougars beginning with the 2010-11 season. She is the daughter of Jim and Linda Maziarka.
 
    Maziarka played three years of varsity softball for Marshall County High School and hit .273 for the Marshals in 2010, with 30 hits, 9 doubles, 22 runs scored, 15 walks, and 16 RBI. She also played two seasons of travel team softball for the Marshall County Magic, hitting .279 with 4 RBI in 2008, and .338 with 2 doubles, one triple, 26 runs scored and 7 RBI in 2009. An excellent student, Maziarka earned All-A State Academic honors and received a Marshall County Athletics Foundation Scholarship.
 
     "I am excited that MCU has signed another student-athlete from the local western Kentucky area," says Coach Bakemeier. "Anna will be a great addition to our program with her positive attitude and great work ethic."
