Assistant Coach- 2nd Season

Mayfield, KY - Aaron Fenton joined the Mid-Continent coaching staff as assistant men's soccer coach in April, 2010.  Fenton played three seasons for MCU coach David Oesch at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Fenton was unable to compete during his freshman and senior seasons due to injuries and started at forward in 2007 and 2008. Oesch was appointed Bacone's head coach after Fenton's freshman season, and the two forged a relationship over the next three seasons. Oesch relates that "the first day I met Aaron, he told me that he wanted to become a college soccer coach someday and he went out and proved himself through hard work and dedication and now he is realizing his dream as a member of Mid-Continent's coaching staff."

Fenton played six years of competitive club soccer in the Dallas/Arlington, Texas area, including two seasons for the Dallas Texans Soccer Club. He served as the first-ever team captain and started every match for two seasons at Timberview High School, which opened in 2004, and graduated with honors from Timberview in 2006.

Fenton graduated cum laude from Bacone College in May, 2010, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management. He also served as Senior Class President and vice president of Alpha Chi, a junior and senior honors organization, and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa honors organization.

Part of Fenton's undergraduate experience was an internship which involved coaching a competitive academy boys soccer team in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  The team was part of the MCW Alliance and completed its season with a three-game winning streak shortly before Fenton accepted Mid-Continent's assistant coaching position.

Noting that many players lacked the basic skills and knowledge needed to succeed in soccer, Fenton began an individualized training program with seven local players in the Muskogee area during his final semester at Bacone.

Commenting on Fenton's appointment, Oesch says, "I am extremely excited that Aaron will be joining our staff at MCU. I have known him for several years and coached him. During that time, he has provided invaluable assistance especially in the area of recruiting."
