Rocky Stinson
Head Coach
 
     Rocky Stinson begins his fourth year as the head coach for the Lady Cougars softball team in 2009-10.  Stinson also serves MCU as Student Activities Director and is softball Vice-Chair for the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA).
 
     Under Coach Stinson, MCU's 2007 team won 14 and lost 39 overall and was 7-25 in conference, the 2008 team was 15-42 overall and 8-26 in the TSAC, and the 2009 team went 13-39 overall and 1-13 in conference.  Prior to becoming MCU's softball coach, Stinson served as assistant baseball coach at MCU in 2006.  His career record is 42-120.
     
     Stinson is a 2003 graduate of Mid-Continent University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and social science and presently is pursuing his Master of Science degree in Human Development and Leadership at Murray State, hoping to finish in the summer of 2009.
 
     Rocky also played third base for Mid-Continent University for four seasons (2000-03) and was one of the Cougars' starting pitchers as a senior.  He is the first four-year athlete to graduate from MCU.

     Originally from Lyles, Tennessee, Rocky has been married to his wife, Jessica, since 2004, and the couple resides in Murray, Kentucky.

 
 
Christa Bakemeier
Assistant Coach
 
     The daughter of Charlie and Doreen Bakemeier of Glendale, Arizona, Christa Bakemeier is a May, 2008 graduate from Mid-Continent University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in General Studies.  In 2009-10, Christa returns to MCU for a second season in a new role as head softball coach, having served during the 2008 fall season as the assistant volleyball coach and as assistant softball coach during the 2009 spring season under former head coach Rocky Stinson, who left MCU after the 2009 season to become head softball coach at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn.
 
     Bakemeier transferred to Mid-Continent University from Glendale Community College (Arizona) in 2006, and pitched and played center field for Stinson for two seasons.  She was MCU's team captain in 2007, and won NAIA and NCCAA Scholar Athlete honors as well.  She also was Glendale CC's team captain during her sophomore season (2005) and played left and center fields for two seasons.
 
     Prior to her college career, Bakemeier played volleyball, basketball, and softball for Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona, and was voted team captain and Most Valuable Player of her softball squad and also won Scholar Athlete honors.
 
     Bakemeier took little time adjusting to Mid-Continent, serving as student government Vice President in her first year in Kentucky, and later was voted commuter representative.  As a senior in 2007-08, she was one of MCU's resident assistants.
