A transfer junior forward from Detroit, Michigan, Candace prepped at Consortium Preparatory High School, where she led earned Most Valuable Player honors as a senior and Defensive Player of the Year honors as a junior.

After graduation, she attended Southeastern Iowa Community College in Keokuk, where she earned Most Improved Player honors as a sophomore in 2007-08.  McGee averaged 7.8 points and 8.4 rebounds and had 53 steals (1.8 per game) and 72 assists (2.4 per game).

Besides her sports participation, Candace was involved in student council and was president of her school's beautification committee.
