A freshman from Golconda, Illinois, Amanda prepped at Pope County High School, where, as a senior, she earned All-GEC Conference; Herrin and Vienna All-Tournament team honors, and was selected to the All-South and All-State honorable mention teams in 2007-08.  She and her twin sister, Amy, also a basketball player, came to Mid-Continent together.

Besides her sports participation, Amanda was a member of her high school's chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the National Honor Society, student council, and the Art Club.
