MAYFIELD, Ky. - Undefeated Cumberland University (5-0; 1-0 TSAC), from Lebanon, Tennessee, won the season's first TranSouth Athletics Conference (TSAC) volleyball match, 3 sets to none, over host Mid-Continent University (1-3; 0-1 TSAC), by scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-13, Wednesday, September 1, in MCU's Cougar Center.

MCU continues the TSAC season with a road match at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee, Saturday, Sept. 4, at 1:00 p.m.

Junior Mauricio DaSilva tied Saturday's match at 1-1 with a goal in the 88th minute.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - After trailing 1-0 since the 23rd minute of its match against nationally-ranked University of Texas at Brownsville, Mid-Continent scored the tying goal in the 88th minute of regulation time of a 1-1 double-overtime tie in August 28 collegiate men's soccer action at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Both sides own 0-1-1 records so far this season.

The Cougars return to action at the Bryan College Classic in Dayton, Tennessee next weekend, meeting Cedarville College (OH), Friday, Sept. 3, and Bryan College, Saturday, Sept. 4, both at 6:30 p.m. Central time.
