Athletics Training

Mission

The Mid-Continent University athletics trainers seek to provide quality medical services; including the prevention, evaluation, care and rehabilitation of athletics injuries to the physically active, with priority given to the intercollegiate student-athletes of Mid-Continent University.

Services

Mid-Continent's athletics training staff primarily serve Mid-Continent's intercollegiate athletes and opponents, providing evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries. Treatments feature the use of hot/cold modalities (ice/heat packs), ultrasound, electrical stimulation and whirlpool therapy, among others.

A team physician has appointments in the Training Room for athletes, and athletes are often referred out for further medical treatment when needed (Orthopedic, Physical Therapy).

Training Room

The training room is located in the Cougar Center on the second floor and is open from 2:00-6:00 M-F during the academic year. Times may change during finals, college breaks and May Term.

Staff

The training department staff consists of one certified athletics trainer. They work closely with area doctors and physical therapists to provide comprehensive treatment for all athletics needs. Student workers assist in the training room throughout the school year.
