MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The 2012 volleyball All-TranSouth team was announced as a part of the 2012 TranSouth Championships, and the squad had a pair of Mid-Continent representatives on it. Mid-Continent had senior's Kristin Selph and Jenavera Gibson named to the team for the 2012 season.

Selph, a 5'7" senior from Jackson, Tenn., earned the honor thanks to a historic campaign. Selph surpassed the 1,000 kill mark on November 2 against Crowley's Ridge College, but that was not the only history she wrote during the year. Selph also became the 11th player in TranSouth history to eclipse the 1,000 mark in both career kills and career digs, and she was a big part of a season in which the Cougars set their single-season wins record for the fourth consecutive year. Gibson, a 5'10" senior from chino Hills, Calif.,  also had a record setting season, posting a new Mid-Continent single-season record for kills, and twice on the season she set the single match kills record at MCU. In just two years at MCU, Gibson blasted more than 700 kills to the floor.

"Kristin has worked extremely hard day in and day out to reach this goal," noted coach Brittany Nicley. "She is extremely deserving of this award, and I am absolutely thrilled for her. Jenny is a very smart player who enjoys the game and is very competitive. These two players receiving these awards should serve as inspiration to the underclassmen to keep pushing, because hard work does pay off."
