MAYFIELD, Ky. - The awards keep rolling in for the Mid-Continent University volleyball team.

After placing two players on the All-TranSouth first team for the first time in program history just two weeks ago, Mid-Continent has now placed a member of the team on the NCCAA All-Mideast Region team for the first time ever.

Three seniors were honored by the NCCAA's Mid-East Region, with Jenavera Gibson being named to the All-Region team, and Kristin Selph and Andria Miller earning All-Region Honorable Mention status.

"These young ladies worked hard all season, and it is very gratifying to see others taking notice," stated Coach Brittany Nicley. "These three players were critical to our success this year, and they have been a huge part of our efforts to turn the program into a winner over the past few seasons."

Gibson - a 5'10" senior from Chino Hills, Calif. - electrified the Mid-Continent fans - as well as the Cougars' offense - in her two seasons with the program. Gibson led the TranSouth Athletic Conference in aces during both of her seasons at Mid-Continent, blasting 149 scoring shots on serves in her Mid-Continent career. This season, she set Mid-Continent single season records for Services Aces (75) and Kills (446), and she ranks in the career top-five at Mid-Continent in Kills (3rd - 715), Assists (5th - 343), Digs (3rd - 684), and Aces (2nd - 149). Factor in to those numbers that she played only two seasons after transferring from Mt. San Antonio College, and they become that much more impressive. Add to those numbers a pair of TranSouth Player of the Week honors, a place on the All-TranSouth Second Team as a junior, an All-TranSouth First team honor as a senior, and you have a tremendously impressive two-season run.

Selph - a 5'7" senior from Jackson, Tenn - may not have single season numbers quite as impressive as Gibson, but her career stat lines at Mid-Continent have helped her make history. Selph recorded more than 1,000 career kills and digs, becoming the first Mid-Continent player to accomplish each of those feats. In addition, she became just the 11th player in TSAC history to surpass both career milestones. It took her just three seasons to surpass 1,000 digs, and in reaching the 1,000 kill plateau, she notched a personal best 364 kills this season - the third best campaign in Mid-Continent History. In addition to being the Mid-Continent career leader in kills and digs, Selph also recorded a Mid-Continent career best 178 service aces. She earned TranSouth Scholar Athlete honors - which require a sophomore or higher student-athlete to remain a 3.0 Grade Point Average - in all three seasons in which she was eligible for the award, and she was named to the All-TranSouth First Team as a senior.

Miller - a 5'10 senior from Paducah, Ky. - did not have the opportunity to accumulate big numbers on the offensive side for Mid-Continent, but on the defensive front, she was difference maker for four years. She holds two of the three Mid-Continent career blocking records, posting 248 blocks in her career, with 171 of those being assisted blocks. In addition to being a key member of the Cougars' defense, Miller has shined in the classroom while at Mid-Continent. She also earned TranSouth Scholar Athlete honors three times, but she went a step further in the classroom, earning Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete honors - which require a student to be at an institution for a full year and reach at least a junior academic status before becoming eligible, while also maintaining a 3.5 GPA. In addition, she was named an NCCAA Scholar Athlete as a senior, completing the trifecta of academic awards available at Mid-Continent.
